UPDATE – Two suspects arrested following shooting in Milton; ongoing appeal for information The Halton Regional Police Service has arrested two suspects following a shooting in Milton on February 1, 2019 that left one male victim with life-altering injuries. Kyrie Lansford MCKAY (28) of Milton has been charged with: Attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm or prohibited firearm Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose Aekwon Stailuv MURRAY (22) of Toronto has been charged with: Possession of Weapon Obtained by Crime Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (2 counts) Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon (2 counts) ​A 9mm handgun and a .40 caliber handgun were recovered at the scene shortly after the shooting. Two vehicles involved in the shooting have also been recovered. It is believed that all parties involved in this incident are known to each other. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and we anticipate additional charges being laid. Any witnesses, anyone with information regarding this incident and/or anyone with dash cam or surveillance video that may have captured the area of 1487 Maple Avenue between 2:40 pm and 3:00 pm on Friday, February 1, 2019 are asked to call the Halton Regional Police Service at 905-825-4777 or 905-825-4747 or to contact the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-824-4777 ext. 2415 or ext. 2416. ___________________________ UPDATE 1 – Request for Public Assistance Following a Shooting in Milton Just before 3:00pm on February 1, 2019, Halton Regional Police Service uniform officers, Tactical Rescue Unit and Canine Unit responded to several reports of shots being fired in the vicinity of Maple Avenue and Main Street East in Milton. On arrival, police located one male victim, in his 20s, who was transported to hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition. A responsible party has yet to be identified, and the investigation is ongoing. There is no known, ongoing, related threat to public safety at this time. Any witnesses, anyone with information regarding this incident and/or anyone with dash cam video that may have captured the area of 1487 Maple Avenue between 2:40 pm and 3:00 pm are asked to call Halton Police at 905-825-4777 or 905-825-4747 or to contact the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-824-4777 ext. 2415 or ext. 2416. One victim was located and has since been transported to hospital. Expect an ongoing heavy police presence in this area. We are asking all members of the public to stay clear of this area.
