Event to be held Saturday, May 7th, 2022
Townsend Smith Foundation is hosting its Hike for Hospice virtually or in person, this Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm. The Townsend Smith Foundation encourages all participants to join in on the important community fundraiser in hopes of raising five thousand dollars for hospice care this year.
According to the Townsend Smith Foundation “the event will be hybrid- half online and half in person.” That way those who are high risk or immunocompromised are still able to participate in the fundraiser. For those who would like to participate in person, the event will be held at Milton Community Park (805 Santa Maria Blvd, Milton), and On Doctor Moore Crt. in Acton where the participants will walk together. To join virtually, one can simply walk on their own or in a private group and post the photos online under ‘#hikeforhospice.’
Bev Mattocks of the Awareness Committee for the Townsend-Smith Foundation comments,
“We recently acquired land in Halton Hills, at the corner of # 5 Side Rd. and Trafalgar Road. We have an annual fundraising hike and the Acton team, ‘Acton’s Hope for a Hospice’ has raised $4000 towards our goal of $5000. The goal for all of our combined teams is $35,000. The Vision of the Townsend-Smith Foundation is a community where every individual has access to a dignified and caring end-of-life journey. Let’s get this built!!”
