TOWN HOSTS ANNUAL NOON HOUR BIKE RIDE

HALTON HILLS, ON – Residents are invited to join Town staff, local commuters and cycle enthusiasts on Monday, May 27, 2019, for a leisurely bike ride. This public event is an opportunity to join with the community and experience a bike ride through nature trails and quiet residential streets. Participants may bring their own lunches for a stop at Georgetown Fairgrounds. The event will begin at 11:45 am at the main entrance of Town Hall, located at 1 Halton Hills Drive in Georgetown. Departure is 12 noon. Interested participants are asked to notify the organizers in advance by emailing hhcycling@haltonhills.ca. Councillor Jane Fogal, Chair of the Halton Hills Bicycle Friendly Community Committee said, "I look forward to this event every year. Our community casual bike ride has route markers to lead us through beautiful trails and quiet residential streets. The event reminds people to take a break from our hectic lifestyle, get outside for some fresh air and have fun. Cycling is great exercise and a healthy way to commute instead of driving a vehicle. We welcome everyone to join us on our annual Noon Hour Bike Ride”. The Halton Hills Bicycle Friendly Community Committee, Smart Commute Halton and the Office of Sustainability are hosting the event for the seventh year in recognition of the globally celebrated Bike to Work Day. The Halton Hills Bicycle Friendly Community Committee has many other scheduled cycling events planned this summer. Visit the Town website for more information.
