The Halton Hills Public Library Designated a Bike Welcome Centre

The Halton Hills Public Library Designated a Bike Welcome Centre HALTON HILLS, ON/ August 12, 2019 – Ontario by Bike has designated the Halton Hills Public Library a Bike Welcome Centre. This designation identifies the Library as a member of the Bike Friendly Business locations as well as a stop along the way when riding the bike trails of Halton Hills. Our area offers a great variety of scenic trails for beginners and enthusiasts. Maps of the trails can be picked up at both branches of the Library. The HHPL Bike Welcome Centre offers: bike racks at the front of the Acton and Georgetown Branches, the option to borrow a bike lock in order to secure your bike while inside the building, a bike repair kit for minor repairs, a pump to add air to a low tire, restroom facilities, quiet spaces to rest and relax, and a water filling station for your reusable bottles before continuing on your journey. Whether biking the trails of Halton Hills or simply biking to the Library, the HHPL Bike Welcome Centre has you covered. When borrowing a bike lock, patrons and visitors simply need to visit a service desk in branch and request the use of a bike lock which can be borrowed easily with a library card. Once the bike is secure, cyclists are free to use the facilities, rest, browse the stacks of the Library or visit the businesses downtown. “It’s exciting to provide our patrons and visitors the opportunity to secure and repair their bikes, then relax and use the Library at their leisure,” says, Beverley King, Manager of Community and Adult Services. “We want the public to enjoy the Library and while our brand is still books, we are much, much more. We are a one-stop-shop for the community and being a Bike Welcome Centre is just another layer of all that we have to offer the residents of Halton Hills.” For more information about the HHPL Bike Welcoming Centre or borrowing a bike lock, please visithttps://www.hhpl.on.ca/en/technology-and-spaces/bike-welcome-centre.aspx or call the Library at 905-873-2681, and speak to a Librarian.
