SUSPICIOUS DEATH INVESTIGATION

SUSPICIOUS DEATH INVESTIGATION At approximately 4:40 p.m. on August 24, 2019, the Halton Regional Police Service received a call regarding an elderly male lying on the sidewalk near Allan Street and Church Street in Oakville. On arrival, police, fire and paramedics located a 91 y.o. male with obvious injuries to his chest. In spite of lifesaving efforts, the male succumbed to his injuries. Due to the nature of the victim’s injuries, the Halton Regional Police Service is treating this as a suspicious death, and the Homicide Unit is investigating. Investigators would like to speak with a male who was seen leaving the area at the time of the incident who may be a witness. He is described as: - Male, black - 30-40 years old - Average build - Shoulder-length hair - Wearing a black hoodie, black pants, possibly with a reflective stripe He was seen leaving the area in a newer model, black, 4-door Volkswagen Golf, driving southbound on Allan Street and then westbound on Lakeshore Rd. Anyone with information about this incident, security camera footage, surveillance footage, or dash cam video from Allan Street, Church Street, Lakeshore Rd. E., Randall St., Reynolds St., Douglas Ave., and/or the general downtown Oakville area between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019, is asked to contact the Homicide Tip Line at 905-825-4776 at the earliest opportunity.
