Halton Hills, ON The Town will be reconstructing Queen Street in Acton (from the intersection of Queen Street & Young Street at Eastern Avenue to the intersection of Queen Street & Churchill Road) starting this spring. Part of the Town’s ROADS 2021 annual pavement management and capital works construction program, the work is set to begin this spring and continue into the summer of 2021. The proposed roadway reconstruction includes:

  • Full-depth asphalt removal, full curb removal and replacement

  • Storm sewer repairs and full width asphalt resurfacing

Affected driveways and all damaged grassed areas will be restored with topsoil and sod. A new signalized pedestrian crossing will be installed at the intersection of Queen Street and Acton Boulevard. “The Queen St. reconstruction project in Acton is part of the Town’s annual pavement management and capital works construction program, “said Mayor Rick Bonnette. “Ongoing ROADS 2021 projects are designed to renew and improve infrastructure across Halton Hills and we apologise in advance for any traffic delays or impacts caused by the work.” New this year, residents are invited to visit the Town’s engagement site at Let's Talk Halton Hills between March 9 and 23 to connect with Town staff about the Queen Street project and any potential disruptions and concerns. The work will be supervised and administered by Town staff. Should projects in the Roads 2021 Program be delayed by factors such as weather or direction from the Provincial and Federal governments with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic, residents will receive a hand-delivered notice from the Town explaining the details of the delay.
