Project "Rural Impact" aims to focus enforcement in the rural communities of Milton and Halton Hills
Officers from the District Response Unit based in Milton will throughout the month of November focus their enforcement efforts in the rural communities of Milton and Halton Hills.
Rural speed studies conducted by the Towns of Milton and Halton Hills confirm that speeding is a concern on a number of roads within the policing district and officers from the Response Team recognize this. During the next four weeks, officers will be tasked with targeting these roads during peak hours. They will adopt a zero tolerance approach and charge violators in a manner that reflects the speed at which they were caught driving. Special attention will be focused on those routes that have identified drivers traveling 50km/h or more over the limit. If drivers are found to be traveling at these speeds they will automatically face a roadside suspension and vehicle seizure.
