Police Warning About Dangers of “Assassins” Game
The Halton Regional Police Service is warning students about the dangers of participating in the "Assassins" game.
Police are aware of an ongoing game taking place in Oakville which involves high school students hunting or "assassinating" one another with water or Nerf-style guns. The "assassinations" often take place off school property, in public, and during the daytime. On a number of occasions, observers, unaware a game is being played, have contacted police. Such incidents cause public distress and garner an elevated police response. Some of the guns used have resembled the appearance of a real firearm.
To ensure the safety of students and eliminate risk of an unnecessary encounter with officers, the Halton Regional Police Service would like to discourage youth from participating in this game.
