Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Fraud Suspect (Milton)

Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Fraud Suspect (Milton) The Halton Regional Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for a multi-victim mail theft/identity fraud that targeted a condominium building in Milton between November 2018 and May 2019. The suspect(s) stole and/or redirected mail and later conducted bank account takeovers by having fraudulent identities added on as supplementary cardholders. The suspect(s) also opened new credit card accounts under the victims' identities online. The pictured male suspect then used the fraudulent credit cards to rack up thousands of dollars per card on products and gift cards across the GTA. Six victims have been identified at this time with a possibility of more who have not reported the fraudulent account activity to police due to financial institutions reimbursing the financial loss. Suspect: Male, Black, 35-45 years old, clean shaven, wearing various clothes but often Under Armour® branding. Police are asking anyone with further information regarding these types of incidents to contact Det/Cst. Kate Banks at 905-825-4747 ext. 2468 or the on-duty Staff Sergeant at 905-825-4747 ext. 2410. Tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers "See Something? Hear Something? Know Something? Contact Crime Stoppers" at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or through the web at www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca. Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
