The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made four arrests and recovered a large quantity of stolen items after an investigation into a series of break and enters.
The 3 District (Burlington) Criminal Investigations Bureau has concluded an investigation into a group of thieves responsible for several property thefts in the Aldershot area of west Burlington.
On May 4, 2023, police executed a search warrant at an address in the area of Plains Road and Waterdown Road. Several stolen items including power tools and electronics were recovered at the location. Investigators were able to link this group of suspects to previously reported break-ins at both Maplehurst Public School and the Burlington Golf and Country Club along with several other local theft occurrences.
On May 4, 2023, the following parties were arrested and held for bail;
Ashley Doyle (25 years) of No Fixed Address
Anthony Benedetti (33 years) No Fixed Address
Amber Forrester (29 years) of Burlington
Reed Vanry (26 years) of Burlington
All four accused were charged with the following:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Trafficking
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
Possession of Break and Enter Tools
Possession of Counterfeit Currency
Possess Prohibited Weapon
Doyle, Benedetti and Vanry were all also charged with Breach of Release Order. Investigators are making efforts to contact the rightful owners recovered property.
