Police Make Arrest After Robbery at Oakville Place Mall



The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made one arrest, and are searching for two additional suspects after a robbery at Oakville Place Mall.


On July 2, 2024, at approximately 6:00 pm, three masked suspects conducted a knife point robbery of the WOW Mobile Cellphone kiosk at the mall. One of the suspects was apprehended by security guards at the mall and arrested by police a short time later. One of the security guards was assaulted by the suspect and suffered a minor injury. Two suspects were able to flee in a white Honda Civic with a small quantity of cell phones.


Matthew Garcia (19) of North York has been charged with the following:

  • Robbery

  • Disguise with Intent

  • Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest


Garcia was released from custody after a bail hearing and will next appear in court in Milton on July 30, 2024.   


Investigators are seeking to identify the two additional suspects (see attached photos).

Suspect 1 is a black male, and approximately 5'10 tall, with a slim or medium build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a mask, black sweatpants with grey thighs, and black running shoes.


Suspect 2 is a black male, and approximately 6' tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black sweatpants with white stripe(s) vertically on the outside of the thigh, as well as white or grey running shoes.
