Halton Hills, ON — The first phase of accessibility renovations at the Halton Hills Optimist Hall will be officially unveiled this Sunday, May 28th. Ted Arnott, MPP for Wellington-Halton Hills, will cut the ribbon at 3:00 PM, marking the significant strides made towards a fully accessible community building.
The renovations are the result of a grant provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, enabling essential alterations that will continue the Hall's tradition as a communal hub for the Halton Hills area.
Alex Hilson, Optimist Club of Halton Hills President, expresses his gratitude towards the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their considerable support.
“We are grateful for the tremendous support we have received from the Trillium Foundation,” said Hilson. “This grant has allowed needed renovations to be made that would simply not have been possible with our own resources. Our Hall is now partially accessible with the groundwork done to make it fully accessible in the near future.”
The Halton Hills Optimist Hall, located at 13439 ON-7, has been a focal point for community groups to assemble and raise funds for their causes. This first phase of renovations will enable the hall to continue and expand its pivotal role in the community.
MPP Arnott and a volunteer from the Ontario Trillium Foundation will attend the event to acknowledge the critical work made possible by the grant. Halton Hills Mayor Ann Lawlor will also be present to deliver remarks.
The event will commence at 1:00 PM, with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and speeches beginning at 3:00 PM. It marks a significant milestone in making the Halton Hills Optimist Hall an inclusive space for everyone in the community, enhancing the efforts of local organizations and fostering a deeper sense of community cohesion.
Members of the public are invited to attend the unveiling ceremony and hear firsthand about the renovations and their expected impact on the community from local leaders.
