New Logo, New Location, Same Farmers Market - Opening Date Announced
Angela Tremblay of Angie's Kitchen has been managing the market over the past several years at the Bethel Church location. This year Angela will be stepping down and Tyler King, General Manager of the Downtown Acton Business Improvement Area (BIA) will be taking over. The market will be held in front of the new BIA office on Willow Street North in front of the historic Acton Town Hall Centre.
The market will be getting a facelift this year and we are already set to have a great variety of local vendors offering a range of fresh seasonal produce and unique retail offerings.
Angela Tremblay said "I took on the farmers market and relocated it so it would not be shut down in Acton, for the last two years I have volunteered to run the market along with a small team to help me along the way. As time goes by our families, businesses have grown and have made us realize that we need more help with the farmers market. We want the farmers market to stay in Acton and grow to benefit our community which means having , activities, events and lots of vendors. Each year we have had between 19 and 23 vendors per season And would like that to grow to 30 vendors per year. The BIA Manager Tyler and I have been working together for many months and have found a fantastic new location in the downtown area that will hopefully benefit both the market and the community to allow even more people to attend, just as good parking as we had at Bethel church, and bring in new vendors . Tyler has a great background with a ton of experience to work more steady at bringing in more vendors. We already have a great lineup for this year and still building more vendors. We have 6 new vendors plus our veteran vendors, more entertainment this year and that's just what we've started. We are excited for this new improvement and hope that our community can support and bring positive encouragement to Tyler as he moves forward with our help to make it the strongest market possible. Stay tuned for more information, location, as we move forward. We will still have it on Thursdays at the same time 3-7pm . As most of you realize Saturdays and Sundays are kept for the larger city markets so our vendors can build their income and still come to our small town markets during the week. The best for the community is to just show up! Just show up weekly and help support and build a great community event . Thank you to my amazing team Mandi, Tammy, Janice and all the vendors that kept us going the last two years and all who attended and purchased from us , please keep coming and pass this word around ."
The Farmers Market is set to open Thursday June 6.
