New Cogeco Program - 'Keeping it Real' with Mayor Rick Bonnette

He’s been Mayor since 2003 and for the first time, will be hosting his own show on YourTV Cogeco, cable 14 / HD cable 700. Entitled “Keeping it Real with Mayor Rick Bonnette”, the half hour monthly program will focus on municipal issues and services. “I’m delighted to have this opportunity to keep our residents informed as to the great work that is being done at the municipality”, said the Mayor. “At the same time, I will be focusing on those issues that are topical and meaningful to this community such as affordable housing and climate change.” The first broadcast of the Mayor’s program will be Thursday, January 30 at 7:30 pm followed by multiple air dates through to February 6. Featured guests and topics include: • Brent Marshall, Chief Administrative Officer speaking on how a lake-based water & sewer system will support Vision Georgetown; climate change as a Council priority and two new economic development strategies focused on tourism and foreign investment. • Warren Harris, Commissioner, Recreation & Parks speaking about the next phase for the Gellert Community Centre and the department’s Strategic Action Plan. • Chris Mills, Commissioner of Transportation & Public Works discusses winter control efforts and how the Town deploys its resources for an effective response.
