Thing are beginning to look like old times the branch, as members and their guests turned out for several events during August, and we were able to get the best use of our Patio. There was a huge turnout for the surprise visit of Elvis on August 7th. as we highlighted our grand re-opening. Elvis impersonator Steve Michaels dropped in for a short visit and is now planning an official concert show in our main hall on Monday September 20th at 7:30pm. See our website for details.
Great to see so many people come out for the presentation to Billy and Joan on August 21st. The entertainment from Norm Mason was outstanding.
So nice to see so many kids at the 14th anniversary Gary Mundy fishing derby on August 22nd, hosted by the Munday family and friends. Winners in the four age groups were: age 2-4 Halieigh, age 5-6 Legend, age 7-10 Shaylenns and age 11-16 Ethan. Thanks to the generosity off all attendees, we were able to donate 125lbs of food and $50 in cash to the Acton Food Share.

We offer our deepest condolences to the family of Barry Miles who passed away last week. Barry was a long-standing member of Branch 197, and a regular at the Thursday night cribbage league where he will be missed.
