Set For March 8th, 2022
The Grassroots Group Women of Halton Action Movement will be hosting its 19th annual fundraising dinner, titled the “Un-Dinner Party” due to the event being virtual this year. The founding sponsor this year is the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario and it is the goal of the Action Movement to raise $50,000 for two charities.
The two charities receiving the donations are:
The Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services of Halton. This charity provides free counselling to victims of violence and sexual assault; a 24-hour crisis intervention, and an educational outreach program.
Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan. This charity supports programs in Afghanistan that advance education for Afghan women and their families as well as educating Canadians about human rights in Afghanistan.
Due to COVID-19, these charities are in great need of support from their local community. The Taliban has taken over Afghanistan and CW4WA is changing its programs to provide essential needs to displaced Afghans. In order to support our event, please donate a minimum of $65 CAD (a tax receipt will be provided for the full amount) at http://www.thedinnerpartyiwd.ca/event2022. If paying by cheque is preferred, please send your contact information, including an email and full mailing address to, 22-130 Robert St., Milton, L9T 6E3. Donors may pay tribute to a significant woman in their lives by adding that person’s name to our Hall of Fame. Women of Halton’s Action Group comments, “At any time on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2022, or thereafter, please enjoy visiting our website at www.thedinnerpartyiwd.ca. The highlight will be our guest speaker, Ancilla Ho-Young, a tireless local advocate working to achieve equity, diversity and inclusion in our community.” For any more information regarding the fundraiser please contact Karyn Byrne at 416-722-1244.
