Impaired Arrest Leads To Gun Recovery Region of Peel -Officers from 22 Division have charged a 36 year old man with firearm related offences. On Monday, May 27, 2019, at approximately 2:55 a.m., officers investigated a single vehicle collision into a tree in the area of Queen Street and Rutherford Road in the City of Brampton. The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and as a result of a search conducted, a loaded handgun was located. Damion Sinclair, a 36 year-old man was charged with the following offences: 1) Operation While Impaired by Alcohol 2) Impaired Over 80 milligrams 3) Prohibited Driving (X5) 4) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm 5) Careless Storage of a Firearm 6) Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm 7) Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm Damion Sinclair was held for a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Brampton in answer to the charges on May 28, 2019.
