Homicide Investigation in Milton
On Monday September 12, 2022, at approximately 2:50 p.m. the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) responded to multiple reports of a shooting at an auto shop in Milton.
Police attended a business located at 32 Bronte Street South, and found three victims with gunshot wounds. Tragically, 38-year-old Shakeel Ashraf of Milton died at the scene and two other victims were transported to hospital. They remain in critical and serious conditions and police are not releasing their names at this time.
The HRPS would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the victims during this difficult time. Shortly after the shooting in Milton, members of the HRPS and Hamilton Police Service located the armed suspect in a cemetery in the city of Hamilton where an altercation took place with police. The HRPS can confirm the suspect is deceased and the Special Investigations Unit is now investigating that altercation.
As required by law, no further information can be provided by the HRPS at this time. Any further inquiries may be directed to SIU Communications.

I also want to thank the many individuals and organizations who have inquired as to the well-being of our officers, and of the other officers involved in this tragedy. Your thoughts and support are sincerely appreciated.”
