Hazardous Winter Storm Wreaks Havoc- Causes Road Closures and Delays in Halton Hills and Milton

Writer: Acton UPActon UP

Halton Hills and Milton, ON - The winter storm has caused extremely hazardous road conditions in Halton Hills and Milton, prompting the Halton Regional Police to urge residents to stay home unless it is absolutely necessary to venture out.

As the snowfall intensified throughout the evening, numerous vehicles have been reported off the roadways in Halton Hills, prompting the police to request that drivers stay off the roads. Tow trucks have also been significantly delayed due to the high volume of calls.

Halton Hills officials have been working diligently to clear the roadways, but their efforts have been hampered by the continuing snowfall. The Northbound lanes of Mountainview Rd at Barber Dr. in Georgetown are currently closed (as of 12:24am) due to a jackknifed tractor-trailer that was blocking the roadway. Heavy tow was unable to assist at this time, and the police have asked drivers to choose an alternate route.
