The Halton Hills Public Library is offering new and creative learning experiences for children with the introduction of Launchpads and Wonderbooks by Playaway®. These innovative and entertaining products promote literacy, bridge the digital divide, and make technology accessible to everyone. Best of all, the technology is FREE to borrow, learn and enjoy!
Launchpads are tablets pre-loaded with high-quality, ad-free learning apps for children to read, learn and interact with anytime and anywhere. They are easy-to-use, and are 100% secure. There is no download time and no need for WiFi. Access to powerful content is as simple as turning on the device. Launchpads can be borrowed for up to 7 days and are perfect for children preschool aged,
up to grade 2.
Wonderbooks are printed books with a ready-to-play audiobook inside. Children can listen to a story and follow along as they turn the pages.
Parents can assist younger children with the read-along andolder children can follow along on their own. Wonder books increase literacy and fluency by adding an element of fun and interaction, and can be borrowed for up to 21 days like other books.
