For 2020, Halton Hills Public Library Makes it Easy to Enjoy the Great Outdoors for Free!
HALTON HILLS, ON/ February 11, 2020 – The Halton Hills Public Library is pleased to offer patrons Toronto Region Conservation Authority and Credit Valley Conservation Family General Admission Passes (TRCA/CVC) and Hiking the Hills Backpack Kits, which can be borrowed for up to seven days.
TRCA/CVC passes can be checked out for free with a HHPL Library Card allowing patrons to enjoy general admission and special discounts to Toronto Region Conservation Parks and Credit Valley Conservation Parks. That’s a savings of $75 per person/per year or a savings of $135 per family/per year. The list of parks include: Albion Hills, Badlands, Belfountain, Black Creek, Boyd, Bruce’s Mill, Glen Haffy, Heart Lake, Island Lake, Ken Whillans, Kortright, Petticoat Creek and Terra Cotta.
Patrons can enjoy activities like picniking, fishing, kicksledding, dog walking, cycling, hiking, boating, canoeing, kayaking, ice skating and fishing, volleyball, snowshoeing, birding, cross-country skiing, photography, and more with their passes.
HHPL is also offering Hiking the Hills Backpack Kits for enthusiasts to view and experience the area’s beautiful natural surroundings and wildlife like never before. Sign out one of the backpacks, which include: binoculars, compass, flashlight, Halton Hikes Loops & Lattes Guide, Lorimer Field Guide to 225 Ontario Birds, Plants of Southern Ontario Guide and The Bruce Trail Reference Maps and Trail Guide. It’s the perfect hiking kit to accompany the TRCA/CVC passes. Best of all, patrons can borrow and appreciate
all of it for free.
TRCA/CVC passes are made possible in partnership with the Credit Valley Conservation Authority. Hiking the Hills Backpack Kits are in partnership with Halton North Peel Naturalist club and the Bruce Trail Conservancy – Halton Chapter.
