An 80 year old Acton resident driving a Ford Escape SUV crashed into a fire hydrant at the the corner of Tanners Drive and Queen St. in Acton. According to a witness at approximately 7:15pm in Acton, an elderly man swerved and hit a fire hydrant, thankfully the fire hydrant did not explode. Halton Hills Fire Department arrived first on scene, followed by Paramedics and then Halton Police. According to the witness the man was visibly shaken and confused but seemed ok. Staff Sergeant Davies for Halton Regional Police said "no injuries and they called an ambulance just as precaution because he was elderly. There were no injuries confirmed by ambulance". No arrests were made.
