At approximately 5:21 p.m. Saturday, what is believed to be a couple of teenagers called in a bomb threat to the Esso station on highway 7 and 22nd side road between Acton and Georgetown.

The call stated “There’s a bomb in your store and it’s about to go off”, they then hung up the phone.

Halton Regional Police was called and blocked off the area, subsequently, Detectives arrived and employed the use of a bomb-sniffing K-9 unit.

The Police were unable to locate any immediate threat. “ By the sounds of it, it was a bogus call to kinda get the police to respond out there”, said Acting Staff Sergeant Bilton for the Halton Regional Police Service.

The Halton Regional Police were unable to track the number of the caller(s), the call is still under investigation.
