An Eggcelent Fundraiser For MSB Breakfast Program Cody’s Cows held an Easter Egg hunt at their farm - just north of Acton on Third Line - this past Saturday, April 20, despite heavy rainfall. The event was a fundraiser for Mckenzie-Smith Bennett (MSB) Public School’s Breakfast Program. Events included multiple Easter Egg hunts divided into different age groups throughout the day. Event goers were treated to a variety of fun activities, including an egg toss and a photo booth. Families could also visit the farm store. “Yesterday, we held our first ever Easter Fun Fundraiser” said Cody’s Cows in a Facebook announcement after the event. “Despite the rain, we had a great turnout for the Egg Hunt and the games! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the school”. The event was made possible through a multitude of volunteers and sponsors who donated towards the prizes found during the hunt. Shanna Maltby of Cody's Cows stated, “We organized it, when we realized there wasn’t a Easter event in Acton - we thought it would be a great event for our Community & a great way to fundraise for the Breakfast club at the same time”. “I am the coordinator for the Breakfast Club this year at MSB. I wanted to get involved with the Breakfast Club, when my son came home from school asking for more food, so another child could have some food at lunch time”, she explained. The total amount raised with the event was $800, which was presented by cheque to MSB on Wednesday. The Breakfast Club at MSB has some funding but also requires donations to maintain the volume of food it provides to children at the school. For more information about supporting the Breakfast Program at MSB, residents are encouraged to contact the school.
