Active House Fire in Oakville

​Officers from the Halton Regional Police Service, Oakville Fire Department, and paramedics are currently at the scene of a single house fire on Princess Anne Drive in Oakville. The fire was called in by a citizen who observed smoke emanating from the residence at approximately 8:39 p.m. tonight. Two occupants of the home have been removed and are currently being treated by paramedics. The Fire Department has not located anyone else inside of the home, but have not concluded their search yet as the fire is still active. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Anyone requiring access to Prince Charles Drive in Oakville (between Kerr and Bartos Streets) is asked to be cognizant of emergency services personnel in the area securing the scene and assisting with the investigation. There is no further information available to be disseminated at this time. Additional updates will be provided via subsequent media releases and Twitter updates as the investigation progresses. ***UPDATE *** Oakville House Fire Update An active fire has been extinguished at a single family residence on Princess Anne Cr. in Oakville. An adult male was removed from the home after emergency services personnel arrived at the scene, and has been pronounced deceased. The adult female who was removed from the home is currently in hospital with serious injuries. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. The Ontario Fire Marshal's office has assumed carriage of the investigation, and their office will be providing updates and information as the investigation progresses. As such, any future media inquiries should be directed to the O.F.M. The Halton Regional Police Service would like to remind all area residents, as well as those who need to travel in the vicinity of Princess Anne Cr., to be cognizant of the emergency services personnel at the scene, and to plan alternative routes in advance if need be. Your patience and cooperation in this matter continues to be greatly appreciated. ***UPDATE *** It was reported that this morning the woman who was taken to the hospital from the fire also succumbed to her injuries and passed away.
